Parkinson’s & DBS clinic launched at Paras Health, Panchkula

Panchkula, October 26: A Parkinson’s and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) clinic was launched at Paras Health, Panchkula today.
In the clinic, the experts will be available for consultations on hand tremors, slowness in activities, stiffness in muscles, loss of balance or walking difficulty and low moods or anxiety. It will have the facilities of board-certified Parkinson's expert, dopamine scan and FDG pet scan. The clinic will remain open on every Friday from 10 am to 4pm.
Meanwhile Paras Health is now first in the region to do this advanced treatment DBS surgery in Parkinson’s patients.
Patients now can avail such special services and do not have to travel to far off places for this advanced surgery for Parkinson’s disease, said Dr. Jaslovleen Sidhu head of Parkinson's disease & movement disorders.
Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neuro degenerative disease in the whole world. Its symptoms are often missed or misdiagnosed with old age and many elderly patients are left untreated.
Common symptoms of Parkinson’s disease include slowness in daily activities, stiffness in body, shaking or trembling of hands, legs, and jaw, difficulty in walking or losing balance while walking, informed Dr. Aman Batish, Neurosurgeon at Paras Health.
