Mohali, Aug 29, 2023: Cogneesol, an IT company which has its Indian headquarters in Mohali, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has supported a 'Handmade Rakhi Making Project' undertaken for skill development of government school children. The company provided support in buying raw material for making the handmade rakhis. Professional trainers to help the children of Government Middle School of village Ballakalan develop the rakhis were also provided; not just this the company also helped in putting up an exhibition of the rakhis made by the children.
Karamvir Singh, Administrator, Cogneesol, said, "We wanted the students to celebrate Rakhi in a meaningful way. So under the initiative, eleven students created as many as 505 beautiful rakhis which were put up at an exhibition of the handmade rakhis' - 'Happy Strings'. This gave the children a lot of confidence as they learnt the importance of hardwork and skill development."
Avinash Kaur, from Cogneesol, who assisted in organisation of the exhibition , added, "Not only did the students learn the art of rakhi making but also collected Rs. 8000 by selling the rakhis to customers who visited the exhibition. The whole project made the kids aware about how a product can be developed and also sold, they got informed about business techniques in a practical way."
The exhibition in-charge was Chhavi and many dignitaries visited the showcase.
