Chandigarh, May 22, 2026: Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL) has commissioned another 20 MVA, 66/11 kV Power Transformer at the 66/11 kV Grid Sub-Station (GSS), Industrial Area Phase-I, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen Chandigarh’s power infrastructure.
The newly installed transformer will enhance power supply reliability for consumers in Industrial Area Phase-I, Sector 29 and 30, GMCH Sector 32, Air Force Station, Behlana, Hallo Majra, Daria, Raipur Khurd, Makhan Majra and adjoining areas by easing load on the existing network and ensuring uninterrupted supply during peak demand periods.
Officials said that the new Power Transformer will also act as additional support to supply the GSS during exigencies.
Members of the Industries Association were also present on the occasion.
With this installation, CPDL has now commissioned four 20 MVA, 66/11 kV Power Transformers since taking over Chandigarh’s electricity distribution operations. Earlier, power transformers were installed at 66 kV Grid Sub-Stations in Industrial Area Phase-II, IT Park and Sector 52.
