Chandigarh, 8 July :The Rotary Club Chandigarh Uptown officially marked the beginning of its 2026-27 year with a grand Installation Ceremony held at Hotel Aroma. The event served as a formal platform to induct the new Board of Directors and outline the club’s vision for community service in the coming year.
The ceremony featured the installation of Rtn. Hari Om Verma as the new President of Rotary Club Chandigarh Uptown, alongside Rtn. Anjna Kapoor as Club Secretary.
Together, they lead a dynamic team dedicated to fostering fellowship and driving impactful social projects.
The event was graced by District Governor Dr. Rita Kalra as the Chief Guest and presided over the Installation ceremony.
Adding significance to the occasion, Dr. H.S. Sabharwal Director of Tera Hi Tera Mission graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, inspiring the members with his message of selfless service and humanitarian dedication. He also offered the club with full support for conducting Medical Camps, Eyes testing camps & surgeries, Mobile breast cancer detection labs , mobile X-Ray lab & any other facilities needed from time to time. He was also kind enough to accept the honorary membership of Rotary Club Chandigarh Uptown & pinning was also done by President Hari Om Verma.
During this ceremony, DGE Rtn. Mohinder Paul Gupta also presented his views about Rotary & blessed the newly installed team as Guest of Honor.
The newly installed 2026-27 team included Rotarians Baljinder Sood, Subha Kamboj, Tarlochan Dev, Vijay Narang , Richa Pratap, Yashica Jain, Ajay Gupta, Rajiv Arora, Rajesh Bindra, Mahesh Arora & Bhuvnesh Nauharia & *IPP Rtn. Amrik Singh* .
During the ceremony, President Hari Om Verma shared his roadmap for the upcoming year, emphasizing a commitment to strengthening local community initiatives, enhancing public health awareness, having meaningful projects and expanding the club’s outreach programs within District & Internationally.
“It is an honor to lead this group of members”, said President Verma. “Our goal for this term is to build a stronger, more engaged club and to create meaningful, lasting impact in our community with really meaningful & sustainable projects that make a tangible difference in the lives of our communities. “
He also added few lines of wisdom during his speech.
“ If the path is beautiful, find out which destination it leads to,
but if the destination is beautiful, never worry about the path.”
"The meaning of life is to find your gift.
The purpose of life is to give it away."
Rotary gives us the opportunity to do exactly that.
During this ceremony 8 new members were inducted in the club. They were welcomed and pinned by the District Governor Rtn. Dr. Rita Kalra & new Installation kits provided to everyone.
The installation ceremony concluded with vote of thanks , fellowship, cultural presentations, and the exchange of good wishes among members and guests, making the event memorable for everyone present.
