Chandigarh:13 Battalion CRPF accorded a warm and emotional farewell to its outgoing Commandant, Smt. Kamal Sisodiya, on her transfer to her next assignment in Delhi after an inspiring and memorable tenure with the battalion.
The farewell ceremony commenced with a Special Ceremonial Guard at the Quarter Guard, where she was accorded a ceremonial salute as a mark of honour and respect for her distinguished leadership and dedicated service.
This was followed by a Sainik Sammelan, attended by officers, subordinate officers, and jawans of the battalion. Addressing the gathering, Smt. Kamal Sisodiya fondly recalled the cherished memories of her tenure and said that her association with 13 Battalion would always remain close to her heart. She expressed her gratitude to every member of the battalion and credited every achievement of the unit to "Team 13 Battalion." Describing the battalion as one family, she appreciated the sincerity, discipline, and dedication of all ranks and encouraged them to continue serving the nation with the same commitment and professionalism. She conveyed her best wishes for their future endeavours.
An emotional farewell followed as officers and jawans showered flowers upon their beloved Commandant amid enthusiastic cheers and presented bouquets as tokens of affection, gratitude, and respect. Members of the civil society also joined in bidding her farewell and hailed her as an "Iron Lady" and "Lady Singham", recognising her courage, integrity, and people-centric leadership.
As part of the farewell celebrations, a Bada Khana was organised for jawans and their families, reflecting the spirit of unity and togetherness that she had nurtured throughout her tenure. A vibrant cultural programme added colour to the occasion, with personnel presenting songs, performances, and heartfelt tributes.
During the programme, several jawans shared their experiences and cherished memories of serving under Smt. Kamal Sisodiya. They spoke about her approachable nature, constant encouragement, and the lasting impact of her leadership. Many highlighted the developmental works undertaken during her tenure to improve the living standards and welfare of the battalion personnel and their families, stating that these initiatives had brought meaningful and positive changes to their daily lives. Their heartfelt words reflected the deep respect, affection, and gratitude she had earned across the battalion.
