Newly Elected President Rtn. Hari Om Verma Leads Rotary Club Chandigarh Uptown into Rotary Year 2026–27 with Day of Service

Chandigarh, July 4:Newly elected President Rtn. Hari Om Verma officially began the Rotary Year 2026–27 by leading Rotary Club Chandigarh Uptown through a series of community service initiatives on the opening day of the new Rotary year. The activities were organised along with Club Secretary Rtn. Anjna Kapoor.
The day commenced with prayers at Sanatan Dharma Temple, Sector 32, Chandigarh, where members sought divine blessings for a year dedicated to service. Breakfast snacks were distributed at the temple and later at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 32.
Marking both National Doctors' Day and Chartered Accountants' Day, the club honoured individuals for their outstanding contributions to society. At Tera Hi Tera Mission in Sector 18, members felicitated Dr. Jaspreet Kaur for her dedicated healthcare services, particularly to the underprivileged through Guru Ka Langar Eye Hospital. The club also honoured Chartered Accountant and Rotarian Anil Chadda in Sector 22 for his professional excellence and contribution to nation-building.
The day's service concluded with the celebration of Annapurna Day at Chandi Kusht Ashram Society, where Rotary members served a warm lunch to around 170 inmates, reinforcing the club's commitment to humanitarian service.
Speaking on the occasion, President Rtn. Hari Om Verma said the club is inspired by Rotary International's 2026–27 theme, "Create Lasting Impact," and will continue working with compassion, dedication and teamwork to make a meaningful difference in the community throughout the year.
