Delegation of Shri Ram School, Moulsari , New Delhi adjudged 'best' , Aarav Bhatia from St. Kabir Public School, Chandigarh declared best delegate

Chandigarh, April 13:The Eighth Edition of VHS MUN (Model United Nations) 2025 — a four-day celebration of diplomacy, global consciousness, and transformative dialogue — organised by Vivek High School, Sector 38, Chandigarh, successfully concluded with a closing and student felicitation ceremony held at the school premises. Rooted in the compelling theme ‘Be the Change: Juntos Sin Miedo (Together, Unafraid)’, the conference inspired delegates to lead with courage, speak with conviction, and collaborate without hesitation. Sanjeev  Chandra with over 31 years of experience across continents was the chief guest. Chandra has held leadership roles in pivotal sectors of the economy like logistics, infrastructure, finance, exports, and insurance that drive real-world impact.

During the ceremony, VHS MUN delegates were also felicitated with a range of awards for their exemplary performance, exceptional research, diplomacy and leadership roles. The Best School Delegation prize was awarded to Shri Ram School, Moulsari , New Delhi and the Secretary-General’s Best Delegate recognition was conferred upon Aarav Bhatia from St. Kabir Public School, Chandigarh.

Awards were also presented to members of the Executive Board as a token of appreciation for their mentoring role during the event. These individuals were also responsible for guiding debate, evaluating delegates and ensuring the smooth functioning of the committees. Core Organising Committee Awards too were given to the Secretariat, Under-Secretaries-Generals(USGs) and Coordinators for their contribution to the successful execution of the conference.

Speaking on the occasion, Renu Puri, Principal of Vivek High School, Sector 38, Chandigarh, congratulated the student participants and winners for being part of VHS MUN 2025.

While lauding the efforts, Puri said, “This year at VHS MUN 2025, the young delegates deliberated on a diverse array of pressing global issues across, including the Middle East crisis, with the Palestinian conflict at its core. The Uniform Civil Code was also a key topic, with discussions highlighting its implications for equality and national integration. In UN Women, delegates advocated for the rights of marginalised women, addressing systemic barriers.”

With over 180 delegates from more than 18 prestigious institutions across the nation and overseas, the conference featured eight meticulously curated committees — including the United Nations General Assembly, United Nations Security Council, Continuous Crisis Committee, and Economic and Social Council — each designed to challenge delegates’ intellectually and ethically while addressing urgent global and national concerns.

During the ceremony, VHS students captivated the audience with vibrant cultural performances, including an energetic Bhangra and a graceful Kathak showcase.

Notably, this year’s conference presented a distinguished selection of committees, ranging from traditional UN bodies to dynamic, fast-paced crisis simulations. Under the guidance of seasoned and diplomatically proficient Executive Board members, delegates engaged in rigorous debate and solution-oriented discourse.
