Mohali: The Amity School of Earth and Environmental Science, in association with the Environment Education Program and Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, orchestrated a dynamic campaign drive titled "Mazboot Jad, MazbootMaati: Rooted in Nature - Promoting Native Plants for Greener Urban Spaces". The initiative aimed at enhancing local biodiversity and advocating for the cultivation of native plants in urban landscapes.

Aligned with the theme, "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience," the campaign focused on raising awareness about the importance of land conservation and the role of native vegetation in combating desertification and drought.

The campaign kicked off with a tree plantation drive near and around the Amity Punjab campus, where several native species were planted to contribute to greener urban spaces and promote ecological sustainability. This hands-on activity emphasized the significance of preserving indigenous flora to maintain a balanced ecosystem.

In addition to the plantation drive, the day witnessed a series of engaging workshops on "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience," featuring experts from prestigious institutions such as IIT Ropar and IISER Mohali. These workshops provided attendees with valuable insights into environmental conservation strategies and sustainable land management practices.

One of the highlights of the event was the Mission LiFE pledge taken by students and staff, reaffirming their commitment to adopting environmentally friendly lifestyles. By pledging to reduce their ecological footprint and promote sustainability in their daily lives, participants vowed to contribute to the collective effort towards a healthier planet.
