Chandigarh Taekwondo Stars Strike Gold in Thailand, Win Two Gold Medals for India

Chandigarh, August 12, 2026: Chandigarh’s young taekwondo talents Nityansh Kashyap and Yuvaan Singh have brought glory to India by winning gold medals in the Speed Kicking category at the 9th Heroes Taekwondo 2026 International Championship in Pattaya, Thailand.

Students of Aanchal International School, Sector 41, the two young athletes delivered impressive performances against international competitors, showcasing exceptional skills  to emerge champions in their respective competitions.

Representing India on foreign soil, Nityansh defeated opponents from Thailand, Russia and Korea, while Yuvaan overcame competitors from Thailand, the Philippines and Sri Lanka to clinch gold medals for India.

“Competing against international athletes was challenging. I focused on my speed, timing and accuracy and stayed composed throughout the competition. Winning gold for India is a very proud moment for me. I am grateful to my coach Gaurav Saini, my school and my family for their constant support and guidance,” said Nityansh Kashyap.

“The competition was tough, but my training helped me  stay focused. Winning the gold medal for India in Thailand feels very special,” said Yuvaan Singh.

“Speed Kicking is not just about kicking fast. Balance, concentration, timing and accuracy are equally important. Nityansh and Yuvaan trained extremely hard and showed tremendous discipline and composure under pressure. These two gold medals are a result of their sustained effort and commitment,” said Gaurav Saini, coach at Universal Taekwondo Academy.

Coach Saini said the international triumph marks an important milestone in the athletes’ sporting journey and demonstrates the impact of structured coaching, institutional support and consistent training in developing young athletes capable of competing at the international level.

Both Nityansh and Yuvaan train at Universal Taekwondo Academy, which operates at Aanchal International School, Sector 41, under the guidance of Coach Gaurav Saini. Their families have also played an important role in supporting their training, competitions and sporting journey alongside their studies.

The two gold medals are a proud achievement for India, Chandigarh, the boys' families, Aanchal International School, and Universal Taekwondo Academy. The medals  also highlight the emerging talent and potential of young Indian athletes on the international stage.
