New Delhi : Hon’ble Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, flagged off the second batch of ‘Neev Se Shikhar Tak’ at the iconic Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, New Delhi. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Aishwarya Mahajan, Managing Trustee & President, M3M Foundation; Shri Mayank Srivastava, IPS, Deputy Director General, Sports Authority of India (SAI); and Mr. Nadeem, Director, Fit India Movement.
On this occasion, Dr. Payal Kanodia, Chairperson & Trustee of M3M Foundation, shared her vision “‘Neev Se Shikhar Tak’ is more than a mountaineering initiative—it is a leadership journey that begins at the grassroots and ascends toward greatness. These young girls are not just scaling peaks; they are breaking barriers and rewriting what is possible. With Batch 2, we are proud to extend this opportunity to aspiring daughters of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. Our mission is to ensure every girl with a dream is given the tools, training, and confidence to rise—physically, socially, and emotionally”.
In Batch 2, a new cohort of 11 underserved girls from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Haryana will undergo a free Basic Mountaineering Course at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS), Manali. Guided by India’s Fit India Ambassador, the girls will be trained in rock craft (climbing, rappelling, jumaring), snow and ice craft (step cutting, ice axe arrest, crampon use), rope work (knot making, anchoring, river crossing), and survival skills (tent pitching, shelter building, high-altitude living). Alongside technical training, they will also undergo leadership development sessions that emphasize teamwork, discipline, and resilience—preparing them not just to scale mountains, but to overcome life’s challenges with confidence and strength.
The initiative is deeply aligned with the spirit of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”, aiming to empower adolescent girls with structured physical challenges, mentorship, and life skills. The flag-off of Batch 2 follows the successful launch of Batch 1 in Kurukshetra, supported by Hon’ble Haryana CM Shri Nayab Singh Saini, where 11 daughters of Haryana scaled the Sethi Dhar Peak (16,000 ft) after completing their training. Building on this success, the Foundation has announced that after the completion of five batches, one selected batch will embark on the historic expedition to Mount Everest in 2027, a tribute to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 11 years in office and a testament to the courage and leadership of India’s daughters.
