Awareness session on Alzheimer’s disease held at Max Hospital, Bathinda

Bathinda: As many as 80 people including medical professionals participated in an awareness session on Alzheimer’s disease at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Bathinda on Tuesday to mark World Alzheimer’s Day.
During the session Dr. Pallav Jain, senior neurology consultant at Max Hospital, Bathinda highlighted Alzheimer’s disease symptoms, available treatment options and the importance of its early intervention.
Dr. Jain said, “Alzheimer’s is a progressive brain disorder that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. Over time, it can impact a person's ability to carry out simple daily tasks. Though its exact cause remains unclear in most cases, a combination of age-related, genetic, and lifestyle factors is believed to contribute to its development.”
He also informed about recognizing early signs of the disease, such as frequent forgetfulness, confusion about time and place, and difficulty in completing familiar tasks. The discussion also emphasized the crucial role of family members in addressing both the emotional and physical needs of patients.
“Simple lifestyle changes such as regular physical activity, mental engagement, and a balanced diet can support brain health. Creating a safe, supportive environment is essential for those living with Alzheimer’s.” said Dr Jain.
Max Hospital, Bathinda’s, initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to promoting public awareness and supporting families through education, expert care, and community outreach.
