Chandigarh, April 20, 2022: Maat Pita Santaan Divas was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at Dev Samaj College of Education(DSCE), Sector 36-B, here.
Dr. Agnese Dhillon, Principal of the college welcomed the chief guest, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Director CSSEIP, Fellow and Associate Dean Student Welfare (DSW), Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The Principal of the college presented floral greetings to the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honours, Shriman Nirmal Singh Ji Dhillon, Secretary Dev Samaj & Chairman, DSCE. The function started with the melodious college prayer
"Bhalla chahana manush matra."
Throwing light on the philosophy of Dev Samaj, Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon Ji addressed the gathering and emphasized on the value of parent-child relationship. He said that human beings are the offspring of relationships and they cannot survive without relationships.
Dhillon further emphasized on the unconditional love and care of parents which cannot be at par with any other relation in this universe. Afterwards, a bhajan “Shrada Bhajan Maat Pita Ji" was presented by the college students.
Dr. Agnese Dhillon said, “Parents play a significant role in shaping the child as they inculcate good values into the tender minds and children should show the greatest respect towards one’s parents for the sacrifices they have made.”
“Parents’ love for their children is always unconditional and the benevolence and sacrifice which the parents do for their children no one else can do. At the same time, it is the duty of the children also to honor their parents and follow their footsteps,” added Dr Agnese .
The students of Dev Samaj School presented a beautiful bhajan “Meri mata janam daata”. Many students expressed their gratitude towards their parents by thanking them for every single sacrifice they did for them.
Chief guest Prof.Ashok Kumar emphasized that the celebration of such days can save society and stop the erosion of values among our future generations.
On the occasion, students made confessions and apologized openly before the audience. The purpose of this function was to make students realise the worth of the contribution made by their parents towards the upliftment of their lives and to inculcate a sense of love and respect in them. The function ended with the garland ceremony for parents by their children.
