Chandigarh,Nov,24An 8-day free Yog Chikitsa Shivir being conducted by renowned yoga guru Yogiraj Swami Lal Ji Maharaj at Yog Chikitsalya, Sector 12, Panchkula, near Isckon Temple, from November 25 to December 2 will have a special emphasis on physical and mental stress related issues emerging out of Covid 19 restrictions and lockdowns.
Disclosing this in a press release here today, Swami Lal Ji Maharaj said the eight-day session, to be organized by the Haryana Yog Sabha daily from 6 am to 8:30 am, will also benefit children, who have been deprived of going to school for months and had to remain glued to the computer screens for long hours to take online classes.
“Over the years, I have developed a set of easy to do yogic exercises which are performed gently, but strictly synchronized with deep breathing, to help people attain good health and peace of mind after each session.
“Simple crocodile yogic postures or spinal manipulations will help participants attain flexibility in their body, while at the same time rid them of chronic or recurring issues like obesity, diabetes, constipation, gas and acidity, back ache, sciatica, cervical spondylitis, migraine, tinnitus, etc.”, he said.
The day will start with prayers for good health and peace, to be followed by deep breathing and yoga exercises for beginners. Each participant will be asked the physical or mental issues or both they are facing and the yoga routine they will be asked to follow will be tailor-made depending on their age, capacity and health conditions.
For those whose bodies remain stiff, they will be assisted in performing ‘saral sehaj yoga postures’ to make their bodies supple and flexible within the one week of the yoga shivir.
Participants will also be taught the right way of breathing with a view to destress them and calm their minds. There will also be exercises to enhance the endurance levels of executives working for long hours on computers as well as those who have to routinely drive long distances.
Swami Lal Ji Maharaj will also demonstrate before the participants Shatkarmas or detox yoga practices which help detoxify the body from inside. They will also be familiarized with the best sequence to be followed for the yoga exercises to derive optimal benefits.
