Chandigarh, March 18, 2024: Ishita Arora, an athlete that focuses on building her expertise in mind sports, has bagged a gold medal in the first leg of National Poker Series India 2024. Whether making right moves in chess or playing her cards right in poker, Ishita strives to enter the merit category and doesn’t shy away from working on building her skill set.
Hailing from the vibrant and educational hub, Chandigarh, Ishita was introduced to Poker by a friend from the chess community. Drawing parallels from both the skill sports, Ishita quickly found herself immersed in the intricacies of poker, a meticulous blend of skill and strategy. Since then, she has never looked back. Ishita through her exemplary display of Poker skills and live streaming has become a Poker stalwart to look out for and is playing an instrumental role for paving the way for women Poker players in India.
Talking about her win in National Poker Series India 2024, Ishita Arora shared, “When you talk about Poker, people often link the sport being pursued by only the male players. But participation by more and more female players is changing the perception I am elated to be a part of this journey. I am also thankful to National Poker Series India and PokerBaazi which extend such compelling platforms to Poker players, which inturn encourages more women to partake in the tournaments. I am certain that next year we will see a significant participation from women players.”

She believes that the wisdom imparted by her mentors and the women Poker players of the community have been instrumental in shaping her approach to the game and navigating the challenges of becoming a professional Poker player. With her sights set on the upcoming National Poker Series, Ishita hopes to not only showcase her skills but also inspire fellow players, especially women, to pursue their passion for the game.
