The night-long yogic celebrations are set to unfold at the
Govt. College of Education, Sector 20, Chandigarh, on the intervening night of 8th and 9th March, from 6 PM to 6 AM.
Building upon the global acclaim achieved at Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, the Mahashivratri festival has established itself as the world's largest and most-watched celebration of its kind. Surpassing the viewership of iconic events such as the Grammy’s and the Super Bowl, this year's festivities promise an even more spectacular experience for both online audiences and those fortunate enough to attend in person.
Sadhguru says that the planetary positions on this night, which is also the darkest night of the year, are such that there is a natural upsurge of energy in the human system. The night confers tremendous physical and spiritual benefits for one who remains awake throughout the night, keeping the spine erect.
Celebrations in Chandigarh will include some exciting art, yoga and food stalls, livestreaming of Sadhguru from Isha Yoga Centre, Coimbatore with musical & cultural performances by renowned artists, Sounds of Isha, Kalaripayattu (traditional martial arts) performances by Isha Samskriti and one of the most anticipated events of the night viz. the powerful Midnight Meditation by Sadhguru!
