Dev Samaj Mahotsava starts

Chandigarh, : Dev Samaj Mahotsav – the birth anniversary celebrations of the founder of Dev Samaj, Bhagwan Dev Atma, has started at Dev Samaj Head Office, Sector 36-B, Chandigarh. The ‘Mahotsav’ which marks the 173rd birth anniversary celebrations of the founder of Dev Samaj shall be on till Dec 28. The ‘Mahotsav’ will showcase a range of activities like daily discourses on social ethics and moral culture, bhajan gayan, sangeet sandhya, a quiz competition and play by students etc.
Member, Dev Samaj Managing Council and Secretary, Managing Committees of  Dev Samaj Colleges, Chandigarh, Dr. Agnese Dhillon’s discourse was the main highlight of the day.  Dr. Dhillon spoke on the subject ‘Param Aavshayak Jeewandayak Mere Bhagwan Ka Sambandh’. She apprised the gathering with the vision of Bhagwan Dev Atma.

In her discourse Dr. Agnese said, “In accordance with the teachings of our founder, Dev Samaj aims at strengthening relationships, empowering the girl child, creating a drug and sin free society and removal of discrimination on the basis of caste and creed.”

She shared how Bhagwan Dev Atma abstained from all materialistic joys and led a simple life with the mission to elevate society from all misdeeds and sins. He faced obstacles in the path to spread the message of humanity and ,enlightening others. The discourse was then followed by ‘Bhajan Sandhya’ performed by the students of Dev Samaj Institutions.

Earlier in the 'Pravesh Sabha' address by Shriman Jagdish Chandra Ji Bhardwaj the importance of the ‘Mahotsava’ was shared with the audience. Shriman Bhardwaj then shed light on the humanitarian life led by Bhagwan Dev Atma. He also delved into the life of Secretary Dev Samaj, Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon and his philanthropic outlook.

A discourse on the subject ‘Jeewan Jyotidata Bhagwan Dev Atma’ by Dr. Manoj Madan Ji was also held. A quiz competition for the students of Dev Samaj Schools  took place which was hosted by Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat, Principal, I S Dev Samaj School, Chandigarh. The quiz was based on the life and philosophy of Bhagwan Dev Atma.

A Mega Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with PGIMER and Sukh Foundation will also be organized as part of the ‘Mahotsava’ this will be inaugurated by Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon Ji, who will also deliver a discourse on the theme ‘Dev Jeewandhari Bhagwan Dev Atma’.

A play is also planned which will be staged by the students of Dev Samaj Modern School, New Delhi based on the theme of human relations and how to create harmony in them.
