Chandigarh:Smt. Kamal Sisodiya, Commandant, 13 Battalion CRPF, participated as the Chief Guest in a health and public welfare programme aimed at promoting healthcare awareness and community well-being.
During the event, she visited the Blood Donation Camp and various health screening facilities established for the benefit of the general public. The camp provided a range of free healthcare services, including Blood Donation, Mammography, Bone Density Screening, Eye Check-up, Fibroscan and Physiotherapy consultations.
Smt. Sisodiya toured the different medical screening stations and mobile healthcare units, interacting with doctors, healthcare professionals and beneficiaries. She appreciated the voluntary blood donors for their noble contribution towards saving lives and encouraged citizens to actively participate in such humanitarian initiatives. She also interacted with patients and members of the public availing healthcare services and motivated them to undergo regular health check-ups.
Addressing the gathering, Smt. Sisodiya emphasized the importance of women's health and stated that a healthy woman forms the foundation of a healthy family, a progressive society and a strong nation. She highlighted that in today’s fast-paced life, women often prioritize family responsibilities while neglecting their own health. Therefore, regular health screenings, preventive healthcare and a healthy lifestyle are essential for ensuring their long-term well-being.
She further observed that women’s empowerment is not limited to education and employment alone; good health is equally important. Healthy and confident women are better positioned to contribute meaningfully to society and inspire future generations.
It is noteworthy that during her nearly 26 years of distinguished service, Smt. Kamal Sisodiya has actively supported numerous initiatives related to women's health, public welfare and social awareness across different parts of the country. From remote and inaccessible areas of the North-East to tribal regions of Chhattisgarh, she has consistently encouraged healthcare outreach and awareness programmes for women and young girls. Such initiatives have included organizing medical camps, promoting menstrual hygiene awareness and facilitating access to essential healthcare and sanitation resources for underprivileged communities.
Similarly, in the challenging and remote areas of Jammu & Kashmir, she has contributed significantly towards welfare initiatives focusing on women's health, support for specially-abled persons and improving access to healthcare services for marginalized sections of society. The present health camp reflects the same spirit of service, compassion and community engagement that has characterized her public outreach efforts throughout her career.
At the conclusion of the programme, Smt. Sisodiya appreciated the efforts of the doctors, healthcare workers, volunteers and organizers. She remarked that such initiatives play a vital role in promoting health awareness, encouraging preventive healthcare and building a healthier and more informed society.
