Chandigarh:It is a moment of immense joy for all members of the Senior Journalists Forum that the respected Governor of Punjab and Administrator of the Union Territory has graciously invited us for a cup of tea and conversation on June 20.
Speaking personally, like many of my colleagues, I have had the opportunity during my long journalistic journey to interact closely with the Prime Minister, the President, and several Chief Ministers. Yet, this is the very first occasion in my professional career when senior journalists have been invited by the Governor himself to Raj Bhavan (Lok Bhavan) to share thoughts on journalism and social service.
A few days ago, when the Forum team visited Lok Bhavan, we received a very warm response. During the interaction, the Governor kindly suggested that a holiday—Saturday or Sunday—would be most suitable for such a gathering.
As journalists, we often attend swearing-in ceremonies of new governments and other important events upon invitation. However, this is the first time that the entire fraternity will sit together with the Governor at Lok Bhavan for an intimate exchange of ideas.
With great humility, I extend a heartfelt invitation to all Forum members to be part of these historic moments.
