Mohali, : One of India’s most renowned North Indian restaurant brands, Daryaganj, now arrives in Mohali at HLP Galleria, marking its debut in the Tricity region and bringing with it a culinary legacy that traces back to 1947.
Founded by Raghav Jaggi and restaurateur Amit Bagga, Daryaganj celebrates the legacy of Late Shri Kundan Lal Jaggi, (Raghav’s grandfather) the inventor of Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani. The brand honours the journey of refugees who carried their culinary traditions to Delhi after Independence, shaping what would become the foundation of North Indian Cuisine.
Built on a legacy of iconic recipes and timeless dining traditions, Daryaganj continues to bring its celebrated culinary experience to new audiences. With its strong food culture and discerning diners, the Tricity region offers a natural home for a concept built on authenticity, flavour and nostalgia.
Speaking on the launch, Amit Bagga, Co-founder & CEO of Daryaganj, shared, “Mohali is a special milestone for us, our first venture in the Tricity area. We are excited to bring the authentic Daryaganj experience here and share the legacy of Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, and other classics with a community that truly appreciates North Indian cuisine.”
The menu revives the original recipes from 1947 with signature dishes like “The Original 1947 Butter Chicken” and “The Original 1947 Dal Makhani”, crafted with fresh, hand-picked ingredients that echo the flavours of a bygone era. From succulent tandoor-grilled meats to artisanal kulfi at the live counter, dishes are prepared to be closest to the way Kundan Lal Jaggi served them in 1947.
