Gillco International School starts Visual & Performing Art Academy

Chandigarh, January 21: The Gillco International School, Mohali has announced opening of ‘visual & performing arts’ evening academies for

the children at its school campus. There will be separate academies including theatre, dance, bhangra, fitness, art & craft that will be run by different facilitators. Students from other schools can also get themselves enrolled in the academy of their interest.

Talking to the media here on Saturday, Ruchi Sharma Principal- Gillco International School said that the main aim of education is the holistic development of the child. Each child has the potential to excel in one field or the other.

The theatre academy will be run by The Narrators Performing Arts Society twice a week separately for junior and senior students. The Narrators is a renowned society for performing arts headed by Nisha Luthra who’s also the Head in India of the Leinster School of Music & Drama, Ireland.

Luthra said that theatre is not just restricted to the rehearsals and plays, but it has a far wider perspective. The vision of NTA – Narrators Theatre Academy is the holistic development of the students through different theatrical activities like mime, puppetry, nukkad natak, sketching, painting and Bharatnatyam etc.

These academies aim at catering to the children from Mohali, Panchkula, Kharar and Chandigarh.
