Chandigarh,In a major breakthrough, a team of PS-31, Chandigarh under the supervision of Inspector Ranjit Singh, SHO-31, Chd under close guidance of Miss. Shruti Arora, ASP/South, arrested one person namely Rahul Gupta @ Hari S/o late Dev Raj Gupta R/o # 1988, Mouli Jagran, Complex Chandigarh. Age 21 yrs and recovered one country made pistol and one live cartridge from his possession.
Brief of the Case:-
On 24.11.2021, SI Santosh Kumar along with police party of PS-31 laid a Naka under the Railway Bridge near Kachha rasta at Ind. Area ph-2, Chd. At about 10.00 PM one pedestrian boy was coming from kachha rasta and on seeing the police party he suddenly run away and hide himself under the bushes at kachha Rasta. SI Santosh Kumar along with police party by showing their efficiency apprehended a boy who disclose his name as Rahul Gupta @ Hari S/o late Dev Raj Gupta R/o # 1988 MouliJagran Complex Chandigarh. Age 21 yrs. On checking, One Country Made Pistol (Desi Katta) and one live cartridge recovered from his possession without any Licence or Permit. In this regard accused Rahul has been arrested and case FIR No.170 dated 24.11.2021 U/s 25-54-59 Arms Act, PS-31, Chandigarh, has been registered against him.
During the course of investigation & interrogation of accused Rahul, It is revealed that he procured this Country made Pistol from Uttar Pradesh.
Today, i.e. on 25.11.2021, accused Rahul @ Hari has been produced in the Learned Hon’ble Court and get his 01 day police remand to know his involvement in any incidents occurred in the City and to arrest the person from whom he procured the illegal weapon. The further investigation of the case is in progress.
