Panchkula, 17 August 2025: On the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Purushottam Das Rungta Charitable Trust successfully organized its 178th Community Kitchen, or 'Ann Bhandara' at Industrial Area, Phase-1, Panchkula. On this occasion, the officials and members of the trust were present with a spirit of service and hundreds of people consumed the food at the community kitchen as 'prasad' ,or holy offering.
Trust founder Amitabh Rungta said that the festival of Janmashtami is a day to imbibe the teachings and ideals of Lord Krishna. Praising the glory of Lord Krishna, he said that a 'bhandara' is not just an initiative aimed at serving food to the needy, but it is a symbol of service, kindness and compassion. Rungta, referring to the teachings of the Gita, said that 'nishkam karma' - which means performing actions without attachment to the results or personal gains, is the real worship, and when we work for the welfare of others, it is the true worship of God.
He said that such events strengthen the feeling of mutual brotherhood and cooperation in the society and every person gets the message that true devotion is that which is dedicated to the service of others. He further said that the objective of the trust is to serve the society and provide help to the needy.
On this occasion, the organizers served food during the 'bhandara' to people amidst chants of 'Radhe Krishna'.
