Mohali:Amity University Punjab, Mohali, held its orientation programme on August 28, 2024, blending modernity with the rich spiritual heritage of India's ancient civilization. The event began with a traditional Vedic Hawan, invoking divine blessings for the new academic session. The orientation ceremony was attended by over 2,000 students and parents, marking the beginning of a new journey for the incoming batch.The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including U Ramachandran, Senior Vice-President, Amity Education Group; Dr RK Kohli, Vice Chancellor (VC), Amity University Punjab; Gauravh Gupta, Vice-President, Amity Education Group; Dr PreetiSahni, Assistant Vice-President, Amity Education Group; and various members of the staff and faculty of Amity University Punjab.
During his address, U Ramachandran sought the blessings and conveyed the greetings of Dr Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President of Amity Education Group, and Dr Atul Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University Punjab. He emphasised that Amity is not just a mission but a passion for building the nation through education and beyond. Ramachandran also provided an overview of the Amity’s rich academic heritage, spanning over 30 years.
University Vice Chancellor Dr Kohli welcomed the students to their new academic journey and inspired them to adopt an innovative and creative mindset towards research. He said, “At Amity University Punjab, we aim to become a top-tier institution focused on research and innovation, fostering a global knowledge enterprise. We provide our students and faculty with the tools they need to excel beyond the classroom. Aspiring professionals have fantastic opportunities to engage in the dynamic environment of research and developments in their fields of interest.”
GauravhGupta, Vice-president of the Amity Education Group, congratulated the new batch of 2024 and encouraged them to uphold the Amity legacy with pride. He spoke about the evolving landscape of work and career opportunities in the digital age. He also reminded them to cherish core human values and take care of their families.
DrPreetiSahni, Assistant Vice-president of Amity Education Group, warmly welcomed the students of the 2024 batch with an encouraging address. She expressed her heartfelt wishes for their success in the years ahead and emphasized the importance of making the most of their time at Amity University Punjab.
Dr Dalip Kumar, Registrar, urged the new students to adhere to the university’s rules of discipline and decorum, exercise self-control anti-ragging, and support Amity University’s zero-tolerance policy on ragging.
Dr Shivali Dhingra, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Dean of Student Welfare, briefed students on various university clubs and committees, emphasizing the importance of student engagement.
The orientation programme concluded with great zeal and enthusiasm, setting a positive tone for the new academic year.
