Chandigarh, August 23, 2024: Senior IPS officer and the first woman Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab, Shashi Prabha Dwivedi said that every aspiring civil servant should stay focussed, believe in oneself and have patience to crack UPSC's Civil Services exam for entry into services like IAS and IPS. DGP Dwivedi, who was interacting with aspiring civil servants after inaugurating Chanakya IAS Academy’s extension branch at Sector 25 here, said: “There is no short-cut to success. Every exam of UPSC is a challenge for the students and Civil Services exam is one of them. In order to succeed, I want you all to stay focussed and have both patience and self-belief.” DGP Dwivedi, who first cracked UP-PCS examination in 1992 and then UPSC Civil Services examination in 1993 said: “I do see a lot of potential in each of you. I am sure that the new Chanakya IAS Academy extension branch will provide a good platform to aspiring Civil Servants in realizing their goal.”
Gurneet Kaur Chadha, Chanakya IAS Academy's Centre Head, Chandigarh, said that Chanakya IAS Academy has expanded with a new extension branch at Sector 25 adjoining the office of Punjab Kesri and that there already exists another centre of the Academy in Sector 22.
Gurneet said that Chanakya IAS Academy has been guiding aspiring Civil Servants to realize their goals since 1993 and various centres across the country have achieved 5000 plus selections so far, which is a testament to the commitment and dedication with which our faculty members take care of the students.
Talking about the salient features of Chanakya IAS Academy’s upgraded foundation course for UPSC and State Service Examinations, she said: “It offers complete comprehensive coverage of Prelims, Mains and Interview by the subject expert. We have a special focus on NCERT books for concept clarity.”
Gurneet said that Chanakya IAS Academy has special classes for CSAT, essay and answer writing including in-course curriculum. Students have free library access for 7 days a week, while 24 sets of books for Prelims and Mains classes are available in both the online and offline modes.
She said that a regular weekly assessment test is held along with Prelims and Main Test series in sync with the updated examination pattern.
“There are special value addition and current affairs classes over the week-end along with monthly and daily current affairs analysis. Seminars and mentorship sessions by our successful candidates are also a regular part of our preparatory classes,” added Gurneet.
Meanwhile Chanakya IAS Academy has announced that Punjab police officials' wards who want to pursue coaching at the Academy will get a flat 50 per cent discount on the tuition fees. The chief guest Shashi Prabha Dwivedi, DGP, Punjab said that this was a very noble gesture to help Punjab Police officials' children who want to pursue coaching. What's more, the Academy will also give a 50 per cent discount to any aspirant who attended the interactive session with senior IPS officer Shashi Prabha Dwivedi and was desirous of joining the foundation course at Chanakya IAS Academy.
