Chandigarh, Aug 12, 2024:A three-day Satya Dharam Bodh Utsav, has concluded at Dev Samaj Head Office, Sec 36-B Chandigarh. In different sessions conducted during the festival the audience was guided on the importance of following the principles of virtue, truth and honesty in life.
Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon, Secretary, Dev Samaj, said, “Satya Dharam Bodh Utsav was held to keep the legacy of founder of Dev Samaj, Bhagwan Devatma alive. Discourses were delivered in the utsav by experts in order to make people adopt an ethical way of living.”The highlight of the festival was the session by Member, Dev Samaj Managing Council and Secretary, Dev Samaj College Managing Committee, Chandigarh, Prof (Dr) Agnese Dhillon. In her discourse titled ‘Swastitva Sambandhi Aadeshon ka paath aur Vyakhya’ she delved on the importance of shunning materialistic desires and leading a humanitarian life. She emphasized," We all need to develop a scientific temperament which will help us in uplifting society from all misdeeds." She gave multiple examples from everyday life to teach the importance of living a simple life devoid of greed, corruption, ill thoughts etc. She focused on a drug free society, women education, and on removal of discrimination on the basis of caste and creed.
The utsav began with prayers and ‘bhajans’ followed by a ‘Pravesh Sabha’ address by Shriman Jagdish Chandra Bhardwaj, who is an Advocate by profession. He shed light on ‘scientific thinking’ propagated by Dev Samaj and explained the importance of living a moralistic life.
Another important address was that of Dr Manoj Madan in which he spoke on ‘Saatvik Jeevan Jeene Ki Kala’. Through his discourse he apprised the listeners about the happiness one achieves on leading a ‘Saatvik’(pure & pious) life. He narrated incidents from the life of Bhagwan Dev Atma to make people aware about the benefits of good actions and deeds. He further guided how to lead a life devoid of selfish desires and worldly greed.
On the final day Shriman Ram Vilas Pandey spoke on ‘Atmabodh Ki Avashyakta' and this was followed by ‘Bhaav Prakash’ conducted by Shriman Jagdish Rai Gabba, wherein members of the audience expressed their emotions based on their life experiences. This was followed by bhajans and prayers. The utsav was attended by people from not just tricity but from all over the country.
