Tandon attends ‘Kala Mahotsav 2026’ as Chief Guest, bats for preservation of India’s rich cultural legacy

Chandigarh, October 11, 2026: Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon on Sunday attended ‘Kala Mahotsav 2026’, organised by the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi at Bal Bhawan, Sector 23, Chandigarh, as the chief guest. The event was also graced by the presence of Padma Shri awardee and renowned folk singer Malini Awasthi.

Speaking on the occasion, Tandon said, "Art and culture help in  preserving India’s rich heritage and strengthening our country’s cultural identity. India’s diverse artistic traditions are an invaluable legacy that must be nurtured and passed on to future generations."

Tandon added, “Art and culture are integral to our rich civilisational heritage. They reflect our traditions, values and collective identity. Events such as ‘Kala Mahotsav’ provide a valuable platform for artists to showcase their talent, while also encouraging creativity and ensuring that our cultural traditions continue to thrive.” 

He also appreciated the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi for organising the festival and bringing together artists and cultural enthusiasts on a common platform. He noted that such initiatives play a significant role in promoting traditional art forms and creating greater awareness about India’s cultural diversity.

Tandon congratulated Dr. Sukhminder Kaur Brar, Chairperson, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi and her entire team for organising the event and lauded their efforts towards the preservation and promotion of art and culture.

"I hope such efforts continue to grow and inspire more people, particularly the younger generation,” he concluded.
