TEDx Dikshant School Held Accomplished Speakers Inspire Youngsters with Their Talks

Chandigarh, October 5, 2025: TEDx Dikshant School successfully hosted an exceptional line-up of eight diverse and accomplished speakers from various fields at an independently organized TED event at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh.

These speakers shared their experiences, life stories and insights with an eager and engaged audience. The impressive array of speakers covered a wide range of topics, ensuring a captivating and thought-provoking experience for all attendees.

Setting the tone for the occasion, Mitul Dikshit, Chairman, Dikshant Schools, said: “TEDx platform is one of the most sought-after platforms across the globe. It is our honour to host stalwarts from diverse fields.”

“Through TEDx Dikshant School we aim to provide a forum to youngsters to gain insights and perspectives which in turn helps them get inspired to contribute to society in all possible ways. Such activities boost the students’ morale,” added Dikshit.

Poonam Dhanwatey, a wildlife conservationist and Co-Founder Trustee of Tiger Research and Conservation Trust, left the audience mainly formed by school students in awe. Poonam, who is also an International awardee, said: “Human life owes a lot to wildlife, without which we cannot dream a meaningful existence.”

She emphasised on the need for the younger generation to not just share opinions online but get off-line and into action mode on the ground to counter threats to environment, nature and wildlife. “The time has come for our youth to become ‘Environment Ambassadors’ who are serious about contributing to protecting our flora & fauna before it’s too late. Our youth should take it upon themselves to do something for the fragile ecology,” she said, while speaking to reporters on the side-lines of her talk.

Dr Veerendra Mishra, an IPS officer and an author focusing on human trafficking and transgender rights, said: “Youngsters shouldn’t get bogged down by advice flooding them from real persons and the digital world. Advice sometimes pushes us into destructive competition. EQ is more important than IQ in this fast-changing world and EQ can be enhanced by meaningful and mindful volunteering.”

Yashovardhan Jha Azad, a former IPS officer who served as a Special Director, IB, Secretary, Security, Government of India, stressed the need for dreaming big and converting these dreams to reality. He urged the audience, comprising youngsters among others, to take lessons from school as a guide for the future. He urged them to live with compassion, sensitivity, art, music and nature.

Ambuj Kumar, CEO, Social Venture Partners (SVP) India, a platform engaged in philanthropy in the country, said: “My work in the social impact sector wherein me and my organisation work for betterment of underprivileged segments of society has been very satisfying. I encourage all Indians particularly youngsters to be sensitive towards the needs of those on the fringes of society and help them. This is very important.” Notably, the International Banker turned social impact professional is also a long distance runner.

Tarang Tripathi, Co-Founder, Aawaaz Education Services, spoke about AI in education. Tarang said, “AI in education holds both promise and the peril —AI has the ability to personalize learning and empower teachers, as well as a potential to deepen inequalities and erode authentic human connection.”

Sharing his thoughts with youngsters on the occasion, Rahul Kulshreshtha, CEO, Wide Angle Technologies, and who has worked with leading personalities of the news industry  such as Prannoy Roy and Raghav Bahl to name a few, said: “Don't take hasty decisions. Whatever you do, give it your best. Never be scared of the unexpected. Life rarely follows a straight line, but if you embrace uncertainty, stay curious, and give yourself wholeheartedly, then you will see how magic unfolds.”

Leena Malhotra, a teacher at Dikshant International School, also addressed the audience. Harshita Bhatia, a student of Dikshant International School too engaged the audience with her talk.

The prestigious event was divided into three engaging slots, with each distinguished speaker delivering a 20-minute talk that pushed the audience to think differently
