Punjab University, Saptasindhu Forum and Nivedita Trust Hosts Grand Classical Music Conclave

Chandigarh : 14 Nov 2024 Punjab University Chandigarh, Saptasindhu Forum and Nivedita Trust organized a classical music conclave in Golden Jubilee Hall. In this conclave, internationally renowned classical and playback singer Dr. Jaspindar Nirula guided the teachers and students of around 250 music and art bodies of Tricity Chandigarh and Punjab on classical music and Gurmat music.
The conclave began with the lighting of the lamp. In the first session, Mr. Pradeep Joshi, Ms. Dr. Jaspinder Nirula, Dr. Pankaj Mala and Bollywood and Pollywood stars Binu Dhillon and Kulraj Randhawa inaugurated this knowledge yagya of music. Dr. Virendra Garg's lecture on Sapta Sindhu and Dr. Pankaj Mala's lecture on the origin and development journey of music on the land of Sapta Sindhu introduced everyone to the rich historical heritage of ten thousand years. Dr. Nandita Singh in her lecture discussed the subject of music and Sapta Sindhu in the context of the new education policy. While talking to the audience, well-known Bollywood playback singer Dr. Jaspinder Nirula said that with the grace of God, after earning success and fame in the world of music and Bollywood, she wishes to give time to spread classical music in Punjab. The conclave dedicated to the memory of her father and famous musician late Kesar Singh Nirula was a unique effort for the guidance and training of students and teachers of the music world of Punjab. The audience listened to Dr Jaspinder Nirula with bated breath for two hours and asked him questions. Dr Jaspinder Nirula also sang his popular songs. The audience gained knowledge and experienced joy at the same time.
In his presidential address, Shri Pradeep Joshi spoke on the importance of musical tradition in social life and emphasized on increasing the efforts to make the new generation aware of the rich musical tradition of India.
The chief guest in the closing session was Dr. Renu Wig, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University and special guest was Dr. Parvinder Singh, Vice Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University. Dr. Renu Wig said that under the new education policy, Punjab University is committed to encourage more research and training on the subject of music and Sapta Sindhu. Dr. Parvinder Singh emphasized the role of music in the all-round development of students. Dr. Sapna Nanda, Principal Education College, highlighted the importance of yoga and music in life. Dr. Latika Sharma, Dean Alumni Punjab University presented the vote of thanks. On this occasion, the video of the shabad "Tati Wau Na Lagai" sung by Dr. Jaspinder Nirula ji was also released. The teachers and learners participating in the program looked very happy with this program, they said that such efforts should be made continuously. 
In this program Dr. Anita Kaushal, Dr. Neeru Malik, Dr. Navneet Kaur, Dr. Kalyani, Dr. Nidhi Gautam, Colonel Anshula, Dr. Pavitra Ranaut, Dr. Shivani Singh, Parminder Kaur, Monica Jindal, Dr. Lipika, Dr. Harish Kumar, Prabhjot Singh, Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Dr. Tejinder Bhardwaj, Dr. Shivani Aggarwal, Pooja Mahajan and Atul ji played important roles.
