Patiala, 12 November 2024:The 108 Ambulance service once again demonstrated its life-saving capabilities during a high-pressure emergency situation. A successful delivery was carried out in the ambulance while en route from Rajpura to Rajindera Hospital Patiala, showcasing the skill and expertise of the emergency medical team.
The incident unfolded when 22-year-old Samitro, in labor pain and expecting her second child was referred from Civil Hospital Rajpura to Rajindera Hospital Patiala at 1:10 PM. EMT Gurjeet Singh responded promptly managing the delivery with utmost care. At 1:51 PM, Samitro gave birth to a healthy baby in the ambulance ensuring both mother and child were safe.
Both Samitro and her newborn were admitted to Rajindera Hospital, Patiala. The mother, wife of Amandeep, is reported to be in good health.
108 Ambulance Project Head, Manish Batra expressed gratitude for the team's readiness and expertise, stating "This emergency delivery highlights the critical role our ambulance service plays in ensuring safe transport and care during unexpected medical situations,". He added, "Our EMTs are extensively trained to handle such emergencies and their professionalism makes all the difference in ensuring positive outcomes."
