Chandigarh,16,July,:“Haritima” The Environmental Society of Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh launched a nation-wide Green campaign on 16th July, 2021 on the theme ‘Plant a Tree to have more OXYGEN’. Monsoons are round the corner, so a massive Plantation Drive began on 16th and will end on 30th July as an outreach at different places to generate a healthy oxygen rich environment. Botany department distributed small potted plants that can combat indoor pollution and sensitized people on the uses of these plants.
Dr. Balraj Thapar, Principal incharge highlighted the importance of tree plantation drives amidst Covid-19 pandemic as an important measure for oxygen rich atmosphere. He motivated the faculty and other staff to raise plants both indoors and outdoors as natural air cleansers.. The faculty from various science departments, non-teaching staff along with the students participated in the drive e nthusiastically in the plantation drive.
