Chandigarh,July 19, 2021:Eminent educationist and academician Dr Ajay Sharma took charge as Principal of the most prestigious educational institute of northern India, Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh in the presence of President, GGDSD College Society, Sh Upkar K Sharma, and members of the society on July 19, 2021.
Dr Ajay Sharma has an illustrious academic career. He is a recipient of prestigious State and National awards of excellence like Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Best Teacher Award, has a rich teaching experience of more than two decades. He has authored a number of books and research papers with national and international publications. He specializes in GST, Finance and Taxation. He is, certainly, an academician to reckon with. He has remained a visionary administrator and a helpful mentor for his students and associates.
Dr Sharma has formerly held eminent positions as Principal at Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana, education consultant to Embassy of Republic of Djibouti; Asstt Coordinator to University of Fraser Valley (India); coordinator of Student Exchange Programme with Normandy Business School (France). His working in GGDSD College as Dean, Academic Development Cell, Dean, Cultural Activities, Coordinator BBA and Coordinator MOOC’s program and RUSA scheme at college level, has given him an extensive experience with administrative prowess.
Dr Sharma is, also, an internationally recognized facilitator in conducting Instructional Skills Development Workshops (ISW). He has contributed as co-opted member of ICSI, Chandigarh chapter, added member of Faculty of Commerce & Business Management and has served as a member of the prestigious P.G. Board of Study, Panjab University, Chandigarh for almost a decade now.
His focus will be on pragmatic, holistic, and a systemic approach in shaping young minds. His vision is to lead the institution to touch greater heights. His first target is to ensure that benefits of higher education can be uninterruptedly passed on to students during pandemic time.
