Global Middas Foundation Highlights Mansa's Cry for Public Transport

Mansa,  – In a continued effort to uplift the underprivileged areas of Punjab, the Global Middas Foundation, under its "Saada Khirda Punjab" initiative, hosted the "Panchan Di Sansad" at Village Allike in District Mansa. The well-attended event saw the participation of Panches, Sarpanches, elders, and influential persons from neighboring villages and beyond.The gathering was honored by the presence of revered spiritual leader Mahant Gopal Das (Dera Hem Giri Ji Maharaj), Mahant Mahant Makhan Mani ji (Dera Karipur Dumo), Sardar Inder Preet Singh (President of the Foundation), Sardar Harmeet Singh (Convener of Youth For Punjab), and Sardar Aman Bandvi (Director and Head of Global Sikh Chambers). Sardarni Harleen Kaur, President of Sikh Women for Change, participated online.

During the event, leaders shared insights and debated on the region's challenges and potential solutions. The significant findings were:

Lack of Public Bus Service: Over 40 villages in Mansa have no public bus service, hindering welfare and development.

Healthcare Deficiency: The area lacks access to healthcare, with no dispensaries nearby, causing severe health issues.

Educational Gaps: Inadequate educational facilities have left the population largely uneducated, a critical issue in 2024.

Water Contamination: A receding water table and contaminated drinking water have led to widespread health problems, including Hepatitis C and cancer.

Announcements for Change

Responding to these critical issues, the Foundation made several key announcements:

Free Health Camp: Sardar Inder Preet Singh announced a free health camp on 28th July 2024, offering consultations with eye, skin, heart, and general physicians.

Educational Initiatives: Sardar Aman Bandvi announced the creation of tuition centers to provide quality education, engaging educated youth and retired teachers.

Jal Langars: Sardar Harmeet Singh revealed plans for a campaign to rejuvenate water bodies and ensure clean water access, with expert teams studying and addressing water and soil issues.

Wellness Campaign: Sardarni Harleen Kaur introduced a wellness campaign focused on detox solutions for youth struggling with drug addiction.
