The plays will be staged from April 25 to 27 daily at 6:30 pm at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18 here and the entry is free.

The plays to be staged include ‘Bade Miyan Deewaane’ to be staged on Tuesday, by Group, Rangbaaz Production, Mumbai and the play has been Directed by Imran Rasheed. Meanwhile, on the concluding day (April 27, Thursday), ‘My Wife’s 8th Vachan’ will be staged by the Group, The Films and Theatre Society, Mumbai, and has been Directed by Atul Satya Koushik.

‘Bade Miyan Deewane’, based on renowned Pakistani Urdu writer Janab Shaukat Thanvi Sahab’ s novel “Budhbhas”. The play is essentially about a rich eccentric octogenarian who is used to living a luxurious and flamboyant life and is swept off his feet by a beautiful young girl in his neighbourhood, who incidentally is also the love interest of his son. The star cast includes Imran Rasheed, Pawan Uttam, Akriti Singh, Nancy Thakkar, Yudhvir Dahiya, and Muzammil Qureshi.

It is said that to hide one lie, one has to tell hundreds of lies, and then a lot of hard work has to be done to prove those lies right. Sheela, the heroine of the play, Udhar ka Pati’ also told a lie and to prove it right in front of her grandfather she made those efforts that cost the lives of her husband and other family members. The star cast includes Vishal Bhatt, Abhishek Jhankal, Saurabh Bhatt, Jhilmil, Richa Paliwal, Aarushi Keshot, Chitransh Mathur, Shahrukh Khan and Kamlesh Chandani.

Marriage is a mystery that has deepened with each effort of solving it. ‘My Wife’s 8th Vachan’, at most, is another ambitious (read failed) attempt in doing so. Madhur and Mahak are no different from any married couple who have been co-existing in each other’s lives for fifteen years and have been quarrelling for reasons unknown. Madhur finds himself in the most uncanny episode of his life when the eighth promise that Mahak made at the time of their marriage comes back to haunt her. The star cast includes Anup Soni, Vinay Jain and Monisha Singh Katial.
