Chandigarh | 03 January 2026:Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 42, Chandigarh, marked a significant milestone in promoting health, fitness, and holistic development with the inauguration of an Open Gymnasium on its campus during the 7-Day Special NSS Camp.
The Open Gymnasium was formally inaugurated by Shri Manish Tiwari ji, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, in the esteemed presence of Shri Jasbir Singh Bunty ji, Hon’ble Senior Deputy Mayor, Chandigarh, and Shri H. S. Lucky ji, President, Chandigarh Territorial Congress Party.
The event was also graced by the presence of the college’s worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Binu Dogra ji, along with all NSS Programme Officers and enthusiastic NSS Volunteers.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble dignitaries emphasized the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and adopting an active lifestyle among youth, especially young women, for overall personality development.
Prof. Dr. Binu Dogra ji expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Member of Parliament and the Hon’ble Senior Deputy Mayor for their continuous support and encouragement. She highlighted that the Open Gymnasium would serve as a valuable resource for students, fostering discipline, resilience, and a strong culture of health consciousness on campus.
The event concluded on a note of optimism and commitment towards nurturing physically fit, socially responsible, and empowered young women, in alignment with the vision of the institution and the objectives of the National Service Scheme (NSS).
