A first in Panchkula : Robotic technology launched at Alchemist Hospital

Panchkula: Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula has introduced the Da Vinci Xi surgical robot, which is one of the most advanced robotic surgical systems in the world.
This cutting-edge technology will set a new benchmark for surgical precision, safety, and patient outcomes across various specialties including gynaecology, general surgery, urology, head & neck surgery, cancer surgery and kidney transplant.
Karandeep Singh chairman, Alchemist Group of Hospitals said, ”With every aspect of healthcare evolving rapidly, it’s time surgeries in India embrace the future. The Da Vinci Xi represents a revolutionary shift from conventional open and laparoscopic surgeries to a robot-assisted, minimally invasive approach. While the technology is advanced, it remains completely under the surgeon’s control, enhancing their skill on a highly sophisticated robotic platform.”
Dr. Paramjit Singh Maan, Medical Superintendent said,” The Da Vinci Xi is a next-generation robotic surgical platform designed to enable surgeons to perform complex procedures with enhanced control, precision, and minimal invasiveness. The technology ensures smaller incisions, reduced trauma, faster recovery times, and fewer postoperative complications—placing patient care at the forefront.”
Dr. Harsh Garg, senior consultant general & laparoscopic surgery said that now with surgical robot, we will conduct complex surgeries with greater precision, leading to less pain and faster recovery for patients.
The robot enhances our ability to operate in challenging anatomical areas with improved outcomes, asserted  Dr. Rohit Bansal consultant general & laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Mukesh Goel senior consultant, general & laparoscopic surgery said, “Robotic surgery in general surgery offers several advantages over traditional open or laparoscopic surgery, including smaller incisions, reduced pain, faster recovery, and lower risk of complications. These benefits stem from the enhanced precision, dexterity, and visualization capabilities of robotic systems, allowing surgeons to perform complex procedures with greater accuracy and control.”
Dr. Ibha Kumari, senior consultant gynaecology said,”Robotic surgery offers unmatched control for gynaecological procedures, especially in fibroids and pelvic reconstructions.”
Dr. Aparna Sharma, senior consultant gynaecology said that this platform empowers us to ensure both precision and patient comfort.
In oncology, precision is critical. Robotic assistance helps us protect healthy tissue while removing tumors effectively, said Dr. Munish Mahajan consultant surgical oncology.
Robotic surgery is transformative, especially in complex procedures like prostatectomy and kidney transplants, pointed out Dr. Neeraj Goyal, associate director, urology & kidney transplant.
