Chandigarh,Karampaath Foundation organized a special program on the occasion of birth anniversary of the founder member of the organization, Mrs. Mohinder Walia. Renowned Punjabi actor B.N. Sharma was the chief guest in this program organized at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector-16. Balkar Sidhu (President Award winner in Punjab Folk Dance and Culture), Anita Shabdish (famous theater and film actress) and councilor Jasbir Bunty were special guests. The chief guests commenced the program by lighting the lamp.
On this occasion,the theme song of Karampaath Foundation was also launched. The chairman of the organization, Advocate Gagandeep Singh Ahluwalia, gave detailed information about the outline of the organization. He told that the organization will cremate the unclaimed bodies in the city. For this, a tie-up has been done with PGI. He told that the organization is working against child rape and empowering women for thier rights . Karamapaath Foundation also donated 5 wheel chairs and stretchers to PGI.After this, the artists of Suchetak Theatre staged a wonderful play "Ghar Chaliye". The play was directed by Garry Waraich. The story of the play is based on old parents who are thrown out of the house by their son. The eyes of the audience filled with tears while watching the play. The entire hall echoed with thunderous applause. After this, Balkar Sidhu and his team gave a wonderful performance of Gidda and Bhangra.
At the end of the program, the chief guest B.N. Sharma honored all the artists by giving them trophies and certificates. The other organisers- Saurav, Jasbir Dhillon, Ajit Singh, Babita, Sadhna, Ram, Vinod, Surender, Riya were also present.
