Chandigarh: Today, a warm welcome parade in respect of newly joined Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Praveer Ranjan, IPS, was organized at Recruit Training Center, Police Lines, Sector 26, Chandigarh. SH. Amarao Singh, DSP/Security with Eight contingents of farewell-parade given general salute to the DGP/UT. Besides, the contingent march-past, the parade was followed by Mounted Police, Dogs Squad, Traffic interceptor, PCR Vehicle, QRT, Mobile X-ray Van, Police Hospital vehicle, Road safety exhibition van and Riot Control Vehicle etc. Sh. Omvir Singh, DIG/Chandigarh, Sh. Kuldeep Singh Chahal, IPS, SSP/Chandigarh, Ms. Manisha Chaudhry, IPS, SSP/Security & Traffic, Sh. Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS,
SSP/Headquarters, Sh. Ketan Bansal, SP/City and all DSPs & Inspectors were also present at this welcome parade. Sh. Ombir Singh, IPS, DIG/UT, given the welcome speech at the function.
Sh. Praveer Ranjan, IPS, DGP/UT, in his official address thanked to DIG/UT and all police personnel present at the function for organizing a wonderful welcome parade in his respect even in a heavy rain. He told traffic police officials of Chandigarh Police for performing their duties more diligently and resolves the traffic related problem in the city for public convenience with the help of modern techniques. Further, he added that new techniques/gadgets & technology must be used to trace/control the crime especially Cyber crime, NDPS cases collectively in the city. Initiatives of Community policing will be carried forward smoothly. In the end DGP/UT desires cooperation of Chandigarh police personnel as they have done with past.
