Chandigarh: The Department of Physical Education and NSS unit of the GGD SD College Chandigarh, in collaboration with the College NGO Sanatan Dharma Aadarsh foundation organized Fit India Freedom Run spanning 16 kms from the College to Sukhna Lake and back today . Thirty five enthusiasts participated in it. The run started at 6 a.m., flagged off by Shri Upkar Krishan Sharma, the President of the GGDSD College Society, Chandigarh. The Principal of the College, Dr Ajay Sharma blessed the event by releasing the tri coloured balloons. The students were served refreshments during and after the completion of the run.
Dr Rakesh Verma, Head of the department of Physical Education and coordinator of the event thanked the Chandigarh administration, especially the police department for their cooperation and support throughout the run. The Principal of the College applauded the efforts of the entire organizing team of more than 12 faculty members.
