National Webinar on Revised Accrediatation Guidelines of NAAC for Quality Enhancement in Affiliated Colleges organized

June,12:National Webinar on Revised  Accrediatation Guidelines of NAAC for Quality Enhancement in Affiliated Colleges was organized by Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh in academic collaboration with NAAC, Bengaluru. The seminar started with a brief introduction about the theme and the need of the NAAC accreditation as per the pre-requisite of National Education Policy-2020. Dr. Monica Sachdeva in the start of the seminar introduced the quality mandate of the accreditation council and its vision statement. The theme of the seminar focused on the relevance of quality enhancement in higher education institutions.
Sh Upkar Krishan Sharma, President, GGDSD College Society, Chandigarh in his opening remarks welcomed the guest of honour and keynote speakers, academicians and faculty from various institutions gathered across the country to be a part of the webinar and appraised the participants of the progress of the college.
Dr. Devender Kawday, Deputy Adviser, NAAC, Bengaluru gave an overview  on Assessment & Accreditation Process of NAAC. The changes in the Revised Accreditation Framework and the significance of Data Validation Process and Student Satisfaction Survey were discussed by him in detail  to the utmost satisfaction of the participants. National Education Policy -2020 focuses on quality mandate in Higher Education Institutions and accreditation by NAAC which is a pre-requisite for grants to be received under RUSA from state governments. In view of the changing scenario, the educational institutions need to upgrade to meet the challenges ahead.
Dr. Dalip Kumar, member convener, State Level Quality Assurance Cell, Mission Coordinator (RUSA), Department of Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration gave a consolidated report on status of Accreditation of higher institutions in UT Chandigarh amidst COVID -19 pandemic. In depth analysis of student strength, resources and infrastructure facilities were also discussed in the various colleges of Chandigarh depicting the quality of education imparted in the colleges. 
In the open house discussion, the queries of participants pertaining to validity status of NAAC, outreach activities, placements and internships during the pandemic period which have taken a backseat were answered by the speakers. Several doubts related to assessment and accreditation process during the pandemic period were also answered by the speakers.
Dr. Balraj Thapar, the Principal incharge of the college thanked the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bengaluru for allowing academic collaboration for the conduct of webinar and appreciated the efforts of the IQAC coordinator, Dr. Jasveen Dua, the steering committee and technical committee members for the smooth conduct of the webinar. About 300 participants from various colleges of Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Chattisgarh and Nagaland attended the National webinar with great enthusiasm.
