Chandigarh:A joint meeting between the area Councillor Sh. Jasbir Singh Bunty, government officials from NAKSHA program, and local residents were held on Thursday i.e. 06/11/2025 to discuss the launch of a National Geospatial Knowledge based Land Survey of Urban Habitations (NAKSHA) Pilot project launched by the Department of Land Resources (DoLR) under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP). It aims to revolutionize urban land records.
The meeting began with area councillor introducing the team led by Sh. __ Jain, Retd PCS, Sh. Sahil Thakur, SDE MCC, Mr. Rahul Ratnam, Manager SPMU and his team and briefed the residents on the objectives of the survey. Officials explained how the initiative would help collecting land records and property data and give urban proof record to residents shaping future projects.
Residents took an active part in the discussion, raising questions and offering suggestions. The session saw a lively exchange of views, with officials responding to community concerns and clarifying the scope of the survey.
The Area Councillor concluded the meeting with a note of thanks, expressing appreciation to both the officials and residents for their participation. The gathering was described as productive and encouraging, underscoring the importance of citizen involvement in government programs.
