Chandigarh, Day 3 of the 12th Edition of Machma Expo 2025 at Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh witnessed remarkable momentum with strong engagement from industry leaders, researchers, innovators, technology enthusiasts, and distinguished guests. Sahib Singh Saini, former Cabinet Minister in the UP Government, attended the show on the third day, adding significance to the proceedings.
With over 400 exhibitors and more than 10,000 product displays, the expo continued to attract high footfall, reinforcing its position as North India’s most influential platform for machine tools, automation, and engineering innovation.
A special session was also organized, bringing together leading voices from industry, academia, and universities to explore how collaborative models can be strengthened. The session focused on building an ecosystem where innovation and entrepreneurship can truly thrive, ensuring that knowledge, research, and technology move seamlessly from institutions to industry.
Providing details about the expo, Mr. Karamjit Singh shared that Machma Expo continues to create remarkable opportunities for industrialists, enabling growth and collaboration across sectors. He emphasized the mission of the expo—to support businesses in achieving excellence through specialized and impactful trade fairs. He added that this edition brings industry and academia together to promote Make in India, advanced technology, and research transfer. DST Technology Enabling Centre, Panjab University is representing IITs, CSIR labs, technical universities, and other premier institutions, thereby strengthening the innovation–industry connect.
Overall, Day 3 of Machma Expo 2025 showcased impactful commitments and collaborations, further elevating the expo’s role in shaping the future of India’s manufacturing and technology ecosystem.
Major outcomes:-
1. Mr Gurjeet Singh Kohli, President - Derabassi Industries Association will provide DST-TEC, Panjab University 10 industrial pain points and on which respective experts from academia will share the possible solutions.
2. Mr. Gurjeet Singh Kohli will incubate a startup on nano materials with DST-TECHNOLOGY ENABLING CENTRE, Panjab University
3. Dr. Deepinder Kaur Bakshi from PSCST - Punjab State Council for science and technology emphasised on industry sponsored PHD and CAPSTONE 2.0 for industrial problem solutions
4. Prof. Rupinder Singh Khalsa from NITTTR, chd emphasised on having proper codes and standards for global acceptability of indian industries
5. Mr. Suyog Jain declared that he will establish a Centre of Excellence on Fermentation processes at Panjab University
6. Thapar University and Delhi Technological University emphasised on establishing an industry based setup at University that can be helpful for students, academician, researchers, faculty and industries for collaborative research and testing
7. Dr. Ajay Sharma- sr. Manager, DST-TEC, Panjab University insisted all the worthy members for building an industry -academia association.
