Chandigarh;March,30;Chandigarh Police has achieved a major achievement by arresting one person who involved in drug peddling. On 29.03.2022, a team of Police Station-31, Chandigarh under the close guidance of Ms. Shruti Arora, IPS, ASP/South under supervision of Insp. Ranjit Singh, SHO, PS-31 headed by ASI Surjit Singh along with police party apprehending one drug paddler namely Nur Mohammad S/o Mohd Nathani R/o Bathuada Ward No-13, Satghara, Babubarhi, Madhubani (Bihar) age 29 years.
On 29.03.2022 Police party was on Naka duty near main gate DRDO Office, 3 BRD, Chandigarh with regard to prevention and control of crime. During naka duty, in the evening a person carrying bag on his shoulder was coming from Ramdarbar towards main gate DRDO Office 3 BRD, Chandigarh. On seeing the police party he swiftly tried to turn back. On the basis of suspicion he was apprehended with the help of police official, he disclosed his name as Nur Mohammad and Poppy Husk (Chura Post) was recovered from the bag. On weighing it found to be 21 Kgs. (The value of recovered contraband is Rs 1,50,000/- approximately). Consequently, case FIR No. 39 dated 29.03.2022 U/S 15 NDPS Act, PS-31, Chandigarh was registered against drug peddler Nur Mohammad. Today accused Nur Mohammand produce in the Hon’ble Court and obtained one day police remand. Further investigation is going on.
