Family of slain YAD leader Vicky Middukhera to initiate signature campaign, asks for Mohali residents' support to get justice

Chandigarh, February 12, 2022: With no headway in investigation even after 180 days of the cold blooded and barbaric murder of popular YAD leader Vicky  Middukhera, his family members have asked for support of Mohali residents' in helping them get justice. "Vicky's  murder shows law and order in Mohali is in shambles. I have realised that this fight for justice for Vicky is not mine alone but is a collective one as all residents' of Mohali feel unsafe and insecure. I pray to the people of Mohali with folded hands to support us so that we come to know who was behind this gruesome murder," said Ajay Pal Singh Middukhera while addressing a press conference here.
"It is now for Mohali residents to know why police failed to investigate the broad daylight murder despite having crucial leads," added Ajay Pal Singh Middukhera.

Ajay pal Singh Middukhera said further, "There's no progress in the case. Only a CBI probe will unravel the conspiracy  behind the murder of my brother. The Punjab Police have failed to take the investigation to its logical conclusion despite having CCTV footage. It is beyond our comprehension why the Punjab Police is not acting despite having actionable evidence."

Media persons were also shown the entire CCTV footage of the killing of Vicky at the press meet to drive home the point on how the shooters can be clearly seen in the footage and despite this the police have done nothing to identify and arrest them. Vicky Middukhera was killed on August 7, 2021 in Sector 71, Mohali.

Ajay Pal Singh Middukhera said that the police have not been able to establish even the motive behind the daylight cold blooded murder of my brother, who was a popular YAD leader, leave alone arresting the culprits. "Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi should hand over the case to the CBI without any further delay," he said further.

Ajay Pal Singh called on all parties - AAP,  Congress, Akali Dal, and the BJP alliance to rise above party lines and take up the issue of gross injustice being done to the family of Vicky Middukhera.

"We are the victims and no party is talking about justice for Vicky but we will not rest till Vicky gets justice. We are going to meet the Punjab Governor Banwari   Lal Purohit soon to demand a CBI investigation. We will also announce a signature campaign after meeting the Governor. I request leaders of political parties also to join me in the meeting. Not just this, I also urge people from all walks of life to join us and help us get justice for Vicky Middukhera'," said Ajay Pal Singh Middukhera.

"We have an affiliation with Akali Dal. If the Punjab government is not doing anything, then where is democracy. No one is safe. We don't want to politicise the killing but the Punjab government is hell bent on doing this," he said.

It is noteworthy that Ajay Pal Singh Middukhera has met the Home Minister of Punjab, the DGP and even written to senior officers concerned for justice and to provide the family adequate security cover. This however has all gone in vain.
