Chandigarh: The ongoing confusion within the alliance has opened doors for Congress workers to mislead residents by falsely claiming credit for development work initiated and executed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) representatives. The latest incident involves Ward 22 Councillor Anju Katyal, who has called out Congress workers for wrongfully publicizing AAP-led initiatives as their own.
Councillor Katyal clarified that the installation of CCTV cameras in key areas of Sector 32—a significant safety measure for residents—was an initiative taken solely by her, in close coordination with MP Manish Tewari.
In her statement, Anju Katyal said, “I personally went and met Mr. Manish Tiwari and got the proposal for installing cameras approved. At no point was there any discussion or involvement from Congress workers, as they are now falsely claiming. Mr. Tiwari assured me personally that this work would be executed at the earliest.”
This project, approved under the MP fund, is now in motion to enhance public safety. Despite these facts, Congress workers have been aggressively promoting the initiative as their achievement, attempting to mislead residents.
Katyal warned that if such tactics continue, Congress may persist in taking undue credit for AAP’s dedicated efforts in delivering civic improvements to the city.
AAP stands firm in its commitment to transparency and delivering genuine progress for the people of Chandigarh, without resorting to misleading narratives.
