A Unique Confluence of Devotion and Patriotism: CRPF 13th Battalion Celebrates Janmashtami with the Public

Chandigarh/Punjab.:On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, several prominent temples of Chandigarh and Punjab extended a special invitation to the personnel of the 13th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). At Sanatan Dharam Mandir, Shri Mahavir Mandir Muni Sabha in Sector 23, and ISKCON Temple in Sector 36, the CRPF jawans celebrated Lord Krishna’s birth anniversary with great joy and enthusiasm, together with the local devotees.
On this special occasion, Smt. Kamal Sisodiya, Commandant of the 13th Battalion, graced the event with her presence. In her inspiring address, she highlighted the life of Lord Krishna, His commitment to upholding dharma, and the significance of the Sudarshan Chakra. She remarked that just as Lord Krishna’s Sudarshan Chakra protects the universe, the CRPF acts as a protective shield for the nation. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speech, she underlined how the Sudarshan Chakra symbolizes India’s strength and security, with CRPF embodying that very spirit of protection.

Magnificent tableaux depicting the divine pastimes of Lord Krishna were showcased in the temples, which the jawans witnessed with devotion. The personnel also participated in rituals by swinging the cradle of Lord Krishna and offering prayers with full reverence. The temple committees warmly welcomed the CRPF jawans, and devotees joined them in bhajan-kirtan and prasad distribution.

The celebration reflected a beautiful amalgamation of social harmony, spiritual devotion, and patriotism. It was not just a religious festival, but also a profound symbol of unity and cooperation between society and the security forces.
