A new love story is set to bloom in Sony SAB’s upcoming family romance drama, Dhruv Tara. The new show follows the journey of Dhruv and Tara, who fall in love despite belonging to completely different eras. The show is all set to disrupt the
romantic genre with a love story that has never been witnessed before on Indian television. Going against the boundaries of time, Tara, a princess from 17th century time travels to the 21st century to find a cure for her ailing brother, where she crosses paths with Dhruv. The show features Ishaan Dhawan and Riya Sharma in lead roles as Dhruv and Tara respectively. In this quest of life, Tara’s fate entangles with Dhruv and binds them in a usual bond of love!
Actor Yash Tonk will be joining the cast as Tara’s father; the protective and righteous, King Uday Bhaan Singh. He is a firm believer of justice and treats everyone as equals in the courtroom. While having an orthodox mindset, he loves his children a lot and is immensely affectionate towards his daughter Tarapriya. It will be interesting to watch Yash bring his expertise to his character, making it even more realistic.
Yash Tonk, portraying the character of Uday Bhaan Singh, said, “The show is a first for Indian television as it encapsulates the stark polarities of two different eras. When I heard this narrative, I was very excited to take it up as I saw myself perfectly fit into the character and the story. I am elated to be playing the role of Uday Bhaan Singh and venturing into an area of television that hasn’t been tapped into yet. We did attend a few workshops to get characters and diction right. I have shot a few scenes and it was extremely exciting with a lot of learnings from my co actors. I’m hopeful the audience will enjoy watching this new concept and a different love story that goes beyond imagination.”
