IIID Chandigarh Centre to celebrate 7th Charter Day on July 22

Chandigarh, July 21, 2022: The Chandigarh Regional Centre of the Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID), a prime body for the interior design of the architecture profession, is all geared up to celebrate its 7th Charter Day on July 22. Coincidentally 2022 is also the Golden Jubilee year of IIID, celebrated across India through its 32 chapters. This was announced at Chandigarh Press Club here today.
Interior Designer Ashima Vashisht, Chairperson, IIID Chandigarh said, “This platform is helpful in raising awareness regarding interior designing and design profession to the masses. IIID believes in collaborations with major institutes of related professions to widen the horizon of its members such as the Indian Institute of Architects, Practicing Architects and Engineers Association. IIID Chandigarh Centre has already collaborated with four architectural and interior design universities and institutes, including Chitkara University, CT University, APJ University, Jalandhar, and Inter National Institute of Fashion Designing (INIFD) Chandigarh. Collaboration with four more architecture universities is in the pipeline.”

 Architect Manmohan Khanna, Founder Chairman of Chandigarh Centre, said, "It’s a proud moment for me to witness the interior designers community growing and contributing to the design industry in more ways than one. We have decided to invite the members of IIID Chapters from all over the country to understand the architecture of the City Beautiful. It will be an ongoing process."

 IIID’s vision is highly professional by helping students in this field and encouraging local artists and artisans from different places. For this Chandigarh Centre is planning to hold a showcase with the theme of Art and Craft in the coming months.

The prestigious institution, IIID was established in 1972, while The Chandigarh chapter was launched in May 2015, where the number of members has risen from 32 to 112. The Chandigarh chapter from day one has carved a niche for itself and been accepted graciously all over India. The stronghold point of this chapter is its focus on bridging the gap between professionals and the general public. Sudha Ojha, Hon. Secretary, and Sanjay Khanna, Hon. Treasurer, were also present on the occasion.
