Chandigarh, January 12, 2022: Fifty paintings, which are a brilliant amalgamation of different facets of emotions, will be showcased by a young architect- cum-artist Karan Bajwa in his maiden & solo exhibition 'Black Vibgyor'. Karan is the son of Kargil martyr Major BS Bajwa, Sena Medal(Gallantry) and his collection will be put up for viewing by art connoisseurs from Jan 15-16, 2022, at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sec 16 here. 
"Jan 15 is Army Day which is observed in recognition of Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army and I have timed my exhibition to start on Army Day as a mark of respect to the Indian Army." said Karan, while speaking to media at a curtain raiser press meet held at Chandigarh Press Club. Some of his paintings were also showcased at the event for the media to preview.
At the press meet, Karandeep Bajwa was accompanied by his mother Rajwinder Bajwa, Deputy Commissioner State taxes Govt. of Punjab and his uncles Col PS Bajwa, Deputy Dir Defence Govt. of Punjab; Agiapal Singh Randhawa, Production Producer - Director, DD Jalandhar and Group Capt PS Lamba.
"This art exhibition has been named as 'Black Vibgyor', as my works created over a period of 1 year, depict people's deepest emotions. These are unrevealed by their appearances and the balance between every being in this beautiful nature," explained Karan.
Talking about a new art form called PortIllustraitism which has been used in Karan's works, the artist said: "It is a form of art created to reveal a profound, conceptualised illustration of a portrait. It has a vast effect on modern art movements and the various upcoming trends of art."
The deepest emotions of the beings are the subject of Karan Bajwa’s paintings. The artist sees himself as an observer and his detailed images document the construction of the emotions of life through very vernacular geometrical forms which are unknown to one who sees but known to one who feels the portrayal of different dimensions of one’s mind which modern life demands from us.
Working in charcoal and acrylic on canvas, he uses the seven tones of rainbow, which provide to his paintings a strong physical presence. That presence is enhanced by his skill at rendering figure forms and his sharp eye for manipulating proportion.
The resulting works transform standard notions of realism into uniquely expressive form. “I try to reach beyond the conscious mind,” he says. My paintings realize that goal, adds Karan who lives and works in Chandigarh.
The exhibition will have two paintings dedicated to Karan's father. "These two paintings are inspired by my dad. It is my humble tribute to him."
