United Sikhs distribute plants to celebrate "Green Diwali"

Mohali, Nov 3rd, 2021: United Sikhs distributed plants at the Sohana Gurdwara in Mohali and urged people to celebrate "Green Diwali" in an attempt to safeguard the environment. 

United Sikhs is a global socialorganisation of Sikh community, is not only providing financial aid, but moral support too.

In a bid to propagate the message of Green Diwali, plants were distributed at various places in Punjab. The idea behind distributing plants is to keep the environment safe and pure. 
 
Rupinder Singh, Head – Media, Punjab, United Sikhs, said, “Crackers pollute the air, hence the best practice is to celebrate the Green Diwali. Its good for the environment too. We are appealing to the people to opt for green ways.” 

Besides the volunteers, few office bearers of the NGO were also present on the occasion, including Dr Amandeep Kaur, Gurmeet Singh, Coordinator, Baljit Singh, Rajinder Singh, Amar Derep Singh and Lovepreet Singh. 

United Sikhs is an UN-affiliated, international non-profit, non-governmental, humanitarian relief, human development and advocacy organization, registered in 11 countries including USA, Canada, UK, Australia and India. In India, it is registered in Punjab under the Societies Registration Act. It has been conducting projects with a mission to support the humanity irrespective of their caste and creed.
