Chandigarh,In another breakthrough the team of Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested the following two ladies near Navodya Vidyala Road, Back side rally ground stage, Sec.25, Chandigarh and recovered the 16 stolen batteries of CCTV Camera’s installed in different part of Chandigarh under the Smart City Project of Chandigarh.
Profile of the accused
Seema W/o Joginder R/o # Jhuggi No. 518, Bhaskar Colony, Sector 25, Chandigarh, aged 45 years.
Hasina W/o Ravi R/o # Jhuggi No. 813, Bhaskar Colony, Sector 25, Chandigarh. Aged 36 years.
Brief Facts of case
On 8.10.2021 a cases FIR No. 267 u/s 379 IPC PS-39, Chandigarh was registered on the complaint of Sh. Vishal s/o Harish Chandra R/o # 2621, Sector 21, Chandigarh working as Manager in BEL regarding theft of Batteries from the junction box of CCTV Camera installed near Bhaskar Chowk on the road dividing Sector 37/38, Chandigarh and other area PS-39, Chandigarh.
Subsequently, another cases FIR No. 187 dated 9.10.2021 U/S 379 IPC PS-36, Chandigarh was also registered on complaint of same complainant regarding theft of Batteries from the junction box of CCTV Camera installed near Batra Chowk on the road dividing Sector 36-37, Chandigarh and other area PS-36, Chandigarh
Apprehension of Accused
On 9.10.2021 secret information was received that two ladies who are involved in the recent theft of batteries of CCTV Camera installed in different part of Chandigarh under the smart city project will come to Sec.25, Chandigarh for the sale of batteries. At about 2.30 pm two ladies came from jungle side carrying batteries on their shoulder wrapped in bag (Plastic Katta), on seen the police party they immediately try to turn back but both were caught hold with the help of ladies constables. They disclosed their name as Seema and Hasina, but both could not give the satisfactory reply regarding the holding batteries. On interrogation they admitted that they have stolen the batteries from different part of Chandigarh.
Investigation so far.
Both the ladies were arrested and 16 stolen batteries have been recovered from their possession.
Previous History
Seema and Hasina have tainted past and have been arrested previously in Burglary case of Police Station Sector-19, Chandigarh.
